An exhibition dedicated to drawing
Drawing is the unrivaled protagonist of the solo exhibition held by the artist in Turin, in the gallery of Paolo Marinucci & Tucci Russo, opening on February 24, 1976 with the title Il tiro strabico dell’attenzione. This phrase returns as the title of a book of drawings which visitors to the show had the possibility of viewing [...]. Conceived at the same time as the exhibition, bearing the same title and dated 1975, the volume is composed of graphic signs, sometimes quite simple ones; the viewer is asked to leaf through the pages, to grasp the synergy the artist has created between one sheet of paper and the next, and also to observe the veiled transparency of the support. The main intervention by Salvadori in the space of Tucci Russo and Paolo Marinucci consisted in four photographs made by Cantini, transferred onto aluminum, where the subject is the ceiling of Room 18 of the Hotel Porta Rossa in Florence. The artist, activating an intentional environmental and architectural dialogue, hung them near the ceiling at an angle of forty-five degrees. The four shots in this installation, though sharing the same attitude of abstraction, show the chandelier of the room and its shadow in four different positions, which in turn are combined with the four divisions of the vaulted architecture of the ceiling. The occasion in which these photographs were produced was a project conducted by Carlo Cantini in 1974 and 1975 at the famous hotel in Florence. The series documents [...] an attitude based on an active way of living in places, creating a sort of spatial collage.
