The major exhibition "Remo Salvadori", curated by Elena Tettamanti and Antonella Soldaini, produced by Palazzo Reale and Eight Art Project, in collaboration with Museo del Novecento and Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, closed on Wednesday, September 24. The exhibition, presented at Palazzo Reale and spread across several symbolic locations in the city, was the largest solo exhibition ever dedicated to the artist, confirming its status as one of the most important events of the Milan exhibition season.

From July 2 until closing day, over 200,000 visitors had the opportunity to appreciate Salvadori's works presented as part of a composite exhibition that touched on three emblematic spaces in Milan: Palazzo Reale, the Museo del Novecento, and the Church of San Gottardo in Corte. The opening was preceded by a prologue in the monumental halls of Palazzo Reale, the Sala delle Cariatidi and the Sala del Piccolo Lucernario, with four historical works reimagined for the occasion.

Specifically, the exhibition at Palazzo Reale attracted 20,222 visitors, while 55,900 visitors to the Museo del Novecento and 124,000 visitors to the Museo del Duomo encountered the master's works along their respective exhibition routes, demonstrating the project's ability to intertwine different languages, spaces, and audiences.

The exhibition brought together 59 works, including historical pieces and new site-specific installations, and stood out for its ‘open’ and relational nature. It was not a monographic and chronological review, but an experience in which the works, spaces, and visitors were part of a single organism in continuous dialogue.

As Remo Salvadori himself recalled: “I'm not looking for a destination. I'm not looking for a work that represents me, but I ‘am’ with it all the time. I am ‘in the moment’ and so I keep ‘the fire’ burning.”

The donation of the works Alveare and Nel momento to the Museo del Novecento completes the uniqueness of this project, which seals the artist's authentic bond with Milan in a permanent dialogue."

Remo Salvadori has donated the works Alveare, 1996 (2024) and Nel momento, 1975 (2025) to the Museo del Novecento in Milan, marking another significant milestone for the city.

This donation adds a new chapter to the project that goes beyond the temporary nature of the exhibition. It also attests to the central role played by Milan in the artist's career and is an act of generosity that enriches the public heritage with works capable of interpreting and prolonging the spirit of his research.

The publication accompanying the exhibition is now available: an important two-volume catalog, collected in a box set published by Silvana Editoriale. The publication, which explores the main themes of Salvadori's research, reflects the “worksite” spirit that characterizes both the artist's work and the construction of the exhibition project, highlighting the interaction of different skills and perspectives.
