A limited edition
Following the Italian and English editions, the monograph dedicated to Remo Salvadori is published in a limited edition of seven copies. An elegant box, curated in every detail by the artist himself, contains the volume and a signed and numbered work, Tazza, created especially for the occasion. The work belongs to a series that Salvadori has been working on since the 1980s and from which, almost simultaneously, the work Stanza delle tazze originated.
The seven works, which enrich the box set produced by Skira, are made of metal, the material of choice in the artist's practice. Each Tazza is characterized by a different color—red, yellow, gold, green, blue, indigo, purple—which, according to the theoretical framework to which Salvadori refers, alludes to the world of correspondences between metals, colors, days of the week, and plant species, on which his research of the last decades is based, highlighting the existence of a dimension of connection between the human and the natural.
The volume
Realized by Studio Celant and edited by Antonella Soldaini, the volumethe first in the artist's bibliography to offer a systematic overview of his entire careerprovides a detailed and in-depth account of Salvadori's life and work from 1947 to 2024 through a rich chronology, the result of two years of research in the artist's archive. Accompanied by over 600 images, many of which are unpublished, the publication is introduced by four essays by Antonella Soldaini, Davide Bondì, Sharon Hecker, and Filippo Bosco, who, through different perspectives, contribute to broadening the critical reading of the artist's work.
